Monsignor Patrick Pratico, Judicial Vicar
Tribunal of the Diocese of Scranton
300 Wyoming Avenue
Scranton, PA 18503-1279
Dear Monsignor Pratico:
Enclosed please find a petition (Libellus) that concerns the grave misconduct of members of the Society of St. John, a clerical association of the Diocese of Scranton. I wish to bring this petition before you and the Tribunal of the Diocese of Scranton for your immediate investigation in order to redress the wrongs committed by the Society of St. John. The Tribunal should pay particular attention to the misconduct of two members of the Society, Rev. Carlos Urrutigoity and Rev. Eric Ensey, whom I charge with having molested young men.
As one of the innumerable Catholic faithful across the land who are fed up with the negligence of Church officials in regard to sexual misconduct by priests, I implore you to give due consideration without delay to the enclosed petition.
Thus, if I do not receive an appropriate response from you within forty-eight hours upon receipt of this letter informing me that the Tribunal will immediately investigate the Society of St. John and the above named priests, I can only presume that you and the Tribunal have been compromised by internal diocesan authority, in which case I will report this to the public, including the secular press.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Jeffrey M. Bond

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the College of St. Justin Martyr and of other Catholic faithful, I, Dr. Jeffrey M. Bond, President of the College of St. Justin Martyr, hereby petition the Judicial Vicar, Monsignor Patrick Pratico, and the Tribunal of the Diocese of Scranton to undertake a formal investigation of the Society of St. John and its members, in particular, Rev. Carlos Urrutigoity and Rev. Eric Ensey, and to apply salutary remedies in accordance with canon law, for the grievous harm they have done to the College and to other Catholic faithful. The Society of St. John is a clerical association of the Diocese of Scranton erected in the Diocese in May 1998.
I charge Rev. Carlos Urrutigoity and Rev. Eric Ensey of causing gross scandal of criminal proportions by: (1) plying young men, including minors, with alcohol to the point of intoxication; (2) using alcohol and their spiritual office to lure young men into bed and to sleep with them; and (3) molesting young men. In the case of Rev. Ensey, I charge him with having molested a minor. Moreover, these priests and other members of the Society continue to lie openly to the public in an effort to cover up these activities, thereby defrauding and deceiving Catholic faithful who are, or may become, donors to the Society of St. John.
Furthermore, I claim that these priests and the Society of St. John, in collusion with the Diocese of Scranton, have harmed me, the reputation of the College of St. Justin Martyr, and unjustly obstructed the College's operations: (1) because the College refused to remain associated with a clerical association, namely, the Society of St. John, which is engaged in homosexual activity contrary to the moral teaching of the Catholic Church; and (2) because the College has brought to the attention of the Diocese of Scranton not only the above charges but also the Society of St. John's financial misconduct.
In support of the above charges, and for the sake of the Tribunal's investigation, I am prepared to bring forth documentation, including affidavits, personal testimony, and witnesses.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeffrey M. Bond
