Dear Friends,
Below you will find a letter addressed to Bishop James Timlin of the Diocese of Scranton, a copy of which I received a few days ago. The author of the letter is Mr. Conal Tanner, a graduate of St. Gregory's Academy who attended the school while the Society of St. John was in residence there. Mr. Tanner also served as a dorm father at St. Gregory's.
Mr. Tanner is the second St. Gregory's graduate, as well as the second former employee of St. Gregory's, to sign his name to a document accusing Fr. Carlos Urrutigoity of sleeping with boys in the same bed. John Doe, the first graduate to accuse Fr. Urrutigoity, has filed a federal lawsuit against Fr. Urrutigoity and Fr. Ensey, the Society of St. John, Bishop Timlin, and the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (which owns and operates St. Gregory's Academy). Mr. Paul Hornak, a former teacher at St. Gregory's, previously accused Fr. Urrutigoity of sleeping with boys. John Doe's lawsuit and Mr. Hornak's sworn affidavit are posted at

Many other St. Gregory's graduates and employees have knowledge of Fr. Urrutigoity's and Fr. Ensey's gravely immoral behavior, but they have failed to come forward to tell the truth. All of this will be revealed in good time as the lawsuits against the Society of St. John move forward.
