Dear Friends,

Today the front page of the Scranton Times carried the story of our demonstration yesterday against Bishop Timlin for his continued lies and cover-up of the homosex predator priests of the Society of St. John in Shohola, Pennsylvania. The full story, along with a picture of Bishop Timlin--powdered and posturing before the cameras--can be found at http://www.scrantontimes.com/site/news.asp?brd=2185. I have copied the text of the story and attached it below.

Although this article was the Scranton Times' best effort to date to report this story in an unbiased manner, nevertheless the Times continued to repeat Bishop Timlin's libelous line that the officers of the College of St. Justin Martyr did not report the SSJ's sexual misconduct until after Timlin refused us permission to separate our College from the Society of St. John. That is a lie, pure and simple: a lie that Timlin created, the SSJ disseminated, and the Scranton Times has repeatedly printed.

As I have told the reporters from the Scranton Times again and again, Fr. Munkelt and I presented Bishop Timlin with hours of oral testimony against the SSJ, as well as many pages of written testimony, almost two months before Bishop Timlin announced on October 15, 2001 that he was withdrawing his support for the College. This is a matter of record, and yet the Scranton Times continues to serve Timlin's desire to make it appear as if our accusations against the SSJ were the result of "sour grapes."

The truth is simply this: It is not the case that we accused the SSJ as a result of Bishop Timlin's attempt to suppress the College of St. Justin Martyr. Rather, Bishop Timlin attempted to suppress our College because we had already accused the SSJ of grave immorality and had refused to remain associated with them.

We will continue to protest against Bishop Timlin's corrupt cover-up and the SSJ's continued deception of Catholic donors, to say nothing of the fact that Carlos Urrutigoity and Eric Ensey are still at large, in full clerical attire, with free access to young men and boys. In fact, Urrutigoity currently lives in a trailer with a young man only a few miles from the SSJ's property, and he participates in the SSJ's daily Mass--where other young men and boys are present--despite Timlin's public relations claim to have removed him from the SSJ property.

Anyone wishing to join us in our next demonstration against Timlin and the SSJ should contact me directly.

Pax vobiscum,
